No snowboard lessons today. I got a few runs in the morning, then left after 10 o'clock line-up.

Same story today. I was feeling sick, so left after 10 o'clock line-up.
I woke up still feeling sick, but not bad enough to not go to work. This was Anna's first lesson of the year, and we rode in the brutal wind (but fresh snow) all day. Wore us both out.
Managed to keep going and play ultimate. We lost to the White team 34-32, but i got a tip-away D and played one good offensive point against one of their best players, so that was fun.

Grace eating spinach at the farm.

Turned 55.
Had a 3-hour private with a husband and wife who were both pretty good snowboarders. It snowed all day.
Got called in last-minute to run an all-day re-hire training clinic with Christina, Lindsey, Eliza, Luke, and Rob.
Cold morning, but sunny. I taught the only snowboard lesson—a 15-year-old first-timer.
Took a few runs in the morning, but felt kinda tired and out of it. Sat inside as it started to rain steadily. Left after 1 o'clock line-up—no lessons.
Rain. I took a couple runs in the drizzly rain then left after 10 o'clock line-up. Anna had cancelled because of the weather.
We lost our winter league ultimate late-game 31-30 to the Chameleon team. We had 16 seconds to tie it up but couldn't score. I had a drop and a throw-away, but kept up on defense.

Had an all-day private with a group of three teenagers. Two of them had snowboarded once before, the third was a newbie. We spent the morning on the magic carpet, then in the afternoon, the newbie bailed out and i took the other two up the lift a few times.

Rainy day. I was supposed to run a new-hire training clinic all day but the one instructor that was signed up turned out to be a skier, so i got switched over to groups and ended up with a 13-year-old girl all day. She was a blue level and we looped through the terrain park for most of the day. The rain turned to mist by 11:00 or so, then stopped by about 1:00. My boots and gloves were soaked by the end of the day.
My boots were still wet. The gloves were nearly dry, but not quite. I wasn't feeling well and hoped to not teach but ended up doing a mock lesson, teaching one of the ski instructors (Charlie) how to snowboard while four new instructors (Rachael, Courtney, Oliver, and Chris) watched. Stefan took the only afternoon lesson and i left after the 1 o'clock line-up.
No lessons. Rob agreed to stay until the afternoon line-up, so i went home.
Rode with Anna all day. Wayne and Kaylie took a couple runs with us and Megan and Anabel joined us in the afternoon.
Miserably cold windy day. Sat in the Wernick House writing for most of the morning. Had a 3-hour private in the afternoon—half with one kid, half with the other kid.
Had a 3-hour private in the morning with an adult beginner, then nothing in the afternoon.
I had a 3-hour private assigned to me but the mom wanted a female instructor for her and her shy six-year-old, so i ended up with one adult level-1, which turned into a two-person class with the addition of an 8-year-old who was in a family private with a ski instructor and other beginner skiers. I was supposed to have a private in the afternoon but the guest never showed so i pulled a couple level-2 riders out from George's class, one of whom was Lucia, a new ski instructor who was learning to snowboard.
Three-hour beginner private in the morning with a dad and two kids, then a three-hour afternoon private with a just-above-beginner woman.
Wrangled the upper-level kids all-day group with Anna, Megan, and two boys. It was all frozen solid so we just rode through the parks all day. First time eating at the new kids setup in the Sugar House—not impressed with the food.
Went over to Saratoga Springs to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It was a reserved-seat theater, but my seat was crammed in between groups of people on either side, so since i arrived after the previews started, i grabbed a vacant seat one row back with empty seats on either side.
Scheduled to be off, but went in and took out the blue-level snowboarders—four of them, one being Ella, the daughter of one of the ski instructors.
Day one with a nine-year-old boy who was listed as "partially deaf, dyslexic, ADHD" so i thought it was going to be a challenge but the kid turned out to not only be smart and interested, he had great balance and learned quickly. We were up the lift by the afternoon.
Day two with same kid. Connecting turns, up to the top of the mountain.
Day three with same kid. Mileage, mileage, mileage.
Three-hour private in the morning with two teenagers from Columbia Highschool in New Jersey (birthplace of ultimate), then three hours in the afternoon with a level-4 kid. We just looped the A/B quads all afternoon. It was sleeting most of the day.
Morning private with a beginner, but he was a skier, so picked it up fast, but then fell and sprained or broke his wrist and had to go to Patrol. Afternoon private with the same kid from yesterday, but we got some snow overnight, so conditions were much better and we took some runs from the top of the mountain.
