Rode with Anna and Megan all day, with other Annabel tagging along for the afternoon.

Drove down to Keene, picked up a rental trailer, got my Mini from Sports Car Services, drove home, cleared out a spot in the garage, parked the Mini, loaded up the trash, went to the transfer station, drove up to Rutland and returned the trailer, took the FJ to Alderman's Toyota for its 80,000 mile service, went shopping, came home. Full day.

Day off. Went up to the farm. Watched a Facebook video of Erin McKeown. Played my ukelele.

Had a 2-hour private with a little kid who said that he was seven, but i'm pretty sure he was five. He could heel slide, but not toe slide. The dad got him two more hours with me in the afternoon—my first private that lasted all the way to 4:00.

Late that evening, after i'd gone to bed, Charlie, Liz, Keith, and Julia arrived.

I had a 2-hour private with the same 5-year-old that had originally been scheduled, but also a second one with the same kid for the afternoon. By the end of our eight hours together, the kid made a couple of turns! I was beat, having ridden up and down the magic carpet for eight hours over two days.

I saw Charlie and his crew briefly at lunch, and they all made a delicious dinner that evening. They also got me to do ten minutes of yoga.

Had a 2-hour private with a guy who was a little out of shape and getting back into snowboarding after not having done it in ten years. We stayed on the magic carpet. After that i had a 3-hour private put on me, but Joe offered to take it (two people, level 1) so i went out and took a couple runs with Charlie.

I was held back from morning groups (there was only one lesson) because they were booking a private, but then it never materialized. Then two people showed up at 10:30 for a morning group level 1 lesson, so i taught them. No afternoon lessons.

The latest issue of Moss Motoring came with a story that i wrote in it. The story was edited a lot, but most of it was mine, plus there was a lot of pics of Teco, Seera, and Echo.

All-day with Anna. We explored the trees.

Cold and windy. Took a run through the woods in the morning and ended up down at the Solitude lift, which wasn't running, so i had to jet down to Jackson Gore and catch those lifts to get back over to the Clock Tower side. I had a green-level group lesson with two women who were nearly the same level, which was nice.

Three-hour private with a young girl (5? 7?) who fell down a lot. She made some progress at the very end. The cold wind let up a little by midday. When the first private was over, i picked up a two-hour with two 12-year-old boys who weren't quite at the same level. I had to slow the better one down so that i could work with the less-good rider.

All-day new-hire training. One actual new-hire and two skiers who were training to be snowboard instructors. I got slammed to the ground getting off of the South Face Quad, which kinda pissed me off, since the ramp was too far out and the chair started swinging around the bull-wheel right as we were getting off. Cold again today, but sunny and no wind, so it was a pretty beautiful day out there. There were huge mounds of snow blown for the halfpipe.

Zero snowboard lessons. beautiful cold crisp calm sunny day. I stuck around until 10:30, then went home.

One snowboard instructor, one snowboard lesson (it was Anna). We rode a lot of trees, some that i'd never been in before. I caught a tree with my upper arm on the first run and it left a nice bruise.

Winter league ultimate was back on. We lost to the Blue team 33-30. I played OK—threw a goal, caught a goal, didn't get scored on.

Morning green-level group lesson of one woman, afternoon blue-level lesson of one boy.

Three-hour private with the same kid i had the week before. She didn't improve much. Then a two-hour with a kid who needed to learn how to turn and stop.

I took the above picture of something with melting ice on it, but i don't remember what.

Cold and windy in the morning and the summit lifts weren't running. I took a ride up the Sachem chair and hit a bunch of fresh snow, then a ride up the Black Ridge chair and went pretty much straight down Sel's Choice through deep powder.

The only thing that i had booked on my schedule was a 1 o'clock 2-hour private, so i helped out George with an adult yellow-level lesson in case there was a split, then i inexplicably got booked with a 1-hour private at 11:00 (morning privates are supposed to go out on the half hour). The guy was worn out after an hour. The afternoon lesson was a level 1-ish kid.

-6° in the morning with a howling wind. The Sunburst Six wasn't running again so i hiked all the way up to the Black Ridge lift, which already had a huge line. I had a 9:30 level-1 private for two hours, at the end of which the woman's boyfriend bought us hot chocolates. No lessons in the afternoon—hardly anyone left on the mountain.

It was only -4° in the morning but the wind was even stronger than the day before. The Sunburst Six wasn't running yet again so i hiked all the way up to the Black Ridge lift again. Nobody else was there. All of the Carson kids were there—Ann, Megan, and James, and we had only two snowboard instructors. Wayne ended up teaching five beginners and i had the upper levels, which was the Carsons plus a sixteen-year-old girl in the afternoon.

Winter league quarterfinals. We beat the Black team 28-25. I threw three passes away and got scored on. Bleah.

Poured rain all day.

Codi and Joe split a group of five beginner kids and i had one all-day green-level kid. She needed confidence in making quicker turns. The snow conditions were surprisingly okay.

There was a six-hour private on Shannon, but she wasn't in, so i got it. It was my first ever six-hour private and it was with three college kids, all originally from China. We rode a lot, even though the conditions weren't the best.

The three guests from the day before wanted to request me for three more hours but i already had a request 3-hour private booked, with the in-law of a guest who i'd taught the last couple of years. After that i had lunch then ran a three-hour new-hire follow-up clinic with Gabriel, Chris, and Maurizio. Since the halfpipe had just opened up, we did a few runs through the pipe.

Morning group lesson with one blue-level girl. We took a couple runs to the top. Nothing in the afternoon, so i left after 1:30 line-up.

All day with Megan and Anna. I was the only snowboard instructor and there was two guests who signed up for a level-1 lesson, plus a school group at noon. Joe and Shaun came in on their day off to do the school group. The level-1 guests showed up late and were told that we had no instructor for them. I felt bad, but geez, i should not be the only instructor on Tuesdays.

Anna, Megan, and i took a lot of runs through the halfpipe. I rode fakie a bunch of times and with about an hour left in the lesson, i wiped out and pulled my right tricep on the landing. It really hurt and i had to have a report written up in Ski Patrol at the end of the day. I took some ibuprofin and went up to winter league (in the steady snowfall). Once i started warming up, i realized that i wasn't going to be able to throw with my right arm, so i played the whole semifinal game against the White team throwing lefty. I threw a couple away, but also threw a nice inside-out backhand goal to Evan. We won 36-30.
