I drove in to Rutland and went to the farmers market and Phoenix Books. |
|
I took the Mini out for what ended up being its last run of the year. I visited Jamie at her farm in Danby, then stopped by to see Chrystal in Landgrove. |
First night of Winter League ultimate. We're the Red team and we beat the Green team 33-30 in a late game. |

|
Winter league ultimate, early game: We beat the Orange team 33-32. I happened to be on the field in the overtime point but we scored with a nice Wheaton huck to Bhava. |
|
I went out with Chris and Mike to take down the brake blocks on zips 6 and 7. It was chilly but turned out to be not as cold as we expected. After we got all the parts down, i spent the rest of the day packing up and organizing all of the remaining zipline equipment. |

Winter league ultimate, late game: We could not seem to gel and lost to the Blue team 45-30. I did not play well. |

I drove down to Mount Snow for my first day of snowboarding for the year. My pass worked (Mt. Snow is part of the Vail Resorts family now) and i rode until a little after noon. |
Taught the first lesson of the year—a level-3 woman for two hours in the morning. |
All-day training with Todd and a bunch of other instructors. |
Sore back from three days of riding. I taught a level-4 adult in the morning, then went home. |
Lots of stretching before and after work and my back was feeling not quite so sore. Had a full-day adult lesson (two hours in the morning, two in the afternoon) of two level-1 women. We progressed enough that we took two runs up the lift in the afternoon. |
Back felt pretty good this morning, but a little sore by the end of the day. I was supposed to have a full-day kid lesson, but they never showed, so i jumped in to take over the full-day adult lesson that Andrew (supervisor) had started. She was a beginner but had great balance. That, coupled with the soft slushy snow (warm day) allowed us to make it all the way to the top of the mountain in the afternoon. |

Six-hour private with a family of a dad and three girls. Two of the girls were level 3 or 4, one had never snowboarded before, so i spent most of the day with the newbie. Took a run with the other two girls at lunch and a run with the dad at the end of the day. On my way home, i picked up three new ski instructors from South America who were hitchhiking to Rutland. I told them i could take them halfway, but i took them all the way to the Walmart in Rutland. |
Had my first all-day kids lesson today—an 11-year-old blue-level who said he wanted to do terrain park stuff but we ended up just working on riding all day. It was cold and really windy.
