Hiked down the old road from East Wallingford to Weston. Pretty amazingly wide road through some beautiful forest. I'm guessing that this was the way to get over the mountain before Rt. 155 was cut through.

Left work early and drove over to City Hall to vote. There was no line at all. Out front were the two rival candidates for the Vermont legislature greeting people. Inside was a bake sale for the elementary school.

Hiked south on a VAST trail that crosses Rt. 155 just about at its summit.

Hiked north from the same point and discovered that there's a nice parking area up that road.

Tim picked up my pass for the season today. I had asked Joyce the week before about changing my picture from the one that'd been taken 4 years before. She said that i had to come in to Admin to have another one taken. So i took a pic with the camera on my iMac at work and sent it to Deb Greene, who swapped it in to the system. I think it looks better than my old one.

Hiked along the VAST trail after work into the Okemo State Forest up behind Okemo Ski Area. Nice wide relatively flat road. It was sunny in East Wallingford, but the mountain was relatively socked in.

Hiked south from the end of Lottery Road.

Aaron and i had to go over the base lodge to install some signs and i snapped this pic of the mounds of snow they were blowing.

Worked today so that i could get enough hours to be able to take Thanksgiving off. I printed out, laminated, and mounted the signage for Hot Dog Hill.

Saw that the Hot Dog Hill sign had been installed that morning.

Got up, packed up, kissed the dogs, then drove down to Providence. Traffic was light in Vermont and on I-91 but started to congest a bit on the Mass Pike. When i got to where I-84 joins in, all lanes were stopped dead. I quickly decided to exit onto I-84 South and crawled through a huge line at the toll booth, then took some back roads down to US-44 and stayed on that all the way in to Providence.

Dinner was yummy. I stayed up late watching cable TV on Nina & Mark's humongous projection TV.

Played a game of Settlers of Catan with Charlie, Jason, and Abby. Charlie won.

At about 4:00, i headed back to Vermont to my lonely dogs.

Drove over to Okemo and snowboarded in the morning, then taught a 1-hour private at 11:30. After that i went home and took the dogs down to the White Rocks Picnic Area and did a little loop hike. They were happy to get out.
