Charlie and his friend Elliot arrived late at night by train from NYC. I picked them up at the Rutland train station.

I spent the day teaching Charlie and Elliot how to snowboard. We took a break in the morning to watch some of the Okemo Slush Cup.

That night was the anuual Learning Center end-of-season party where my end-of-season video was premiered. It went over well. After the festivities, Lyndsey and i think Charlotte gave Liam an atomic wedgie.

My lack of sleep on the last two nights was catching up to me and i was a bit groggy all day. Charlie and Elliot decided to ski, so we spent the day exploring the whole mountain. We watched a bit of the pathetic Okemo Cardboard Box Race (not one sled made it to the bottom of the not-steep-enough hill). This was the closing day of the Learning Center.

That night we had spaghetti for dinner.

I woke up the boys at about 7:00 AM and we were about to drive to the train station when Charlie said that he wasn't getting any hot water in the bathroom. I looked in the basement to find that it was 2 feet deep in water and the water-heater motor had shorted out. Ugh.

So we got on the road and made it to the Rutland train station at 7:43 for a 7:40 train, which was about half a mile down the tracks away from Rutland. We drove past the train out to Fair Haven and found the dinky run-down train station there which was down a little dirt road, and waited for the train, which arrived in about 15 minutes and the boys were off to NYC.

I went home and enjoyed my first day off after the ski season, taking the dogs out for a walk. The flowers in front of my house started to bloom.

Becca had given me a pair of Crocs for Christmas, and i decided to decorate them today.

I'd spent the last three days dealing with sump pumps. One of them wouldn't shut off, one wouldn't turn on, and the third seemed to be operating at half capacity. I swapped some parts around and finally got two working pumps which, by the end of the day, managed to clear both the front and back basements from the majority of water in them.

I went snowboarding for a couple hours in beautiful 70-degree weather, then drove the 45 minutes over to Green Mountain College to play some ultimate. Threw a disc for the first time since October in the middle of my first point in.

Jordan, one of the players there who looked familiar, introduced himself to me during a point and it was a couple minutes later that i realized that he looked familiar not because i knew him from ultimate but because he was on the Okemo Ski Patrol.

Closing day at Okemo. I arrived at about 2 and rode for a while, then took the video camera up for the last day wait-for-the-last-chair at the top of the mountain.
