I decided to post something on Facebook every day for the month of December. For some reason however, Facebook has lost the three posts for Dec. 2-4. Dunno why, but apparently they're gone forever. Weird.

Adam got to take a few runs today on the clock (had to install a sign at the summit)!! 4:22pm

Adam had a birthday donut today. 4:36pm

I started working on Saturdays for the winter season and i actually completely forgot that it was my birthday until Wendy York stopped by the sign shop with a red-frosted donut with sprinkles on it. (Turned 44.)

Adam hit EVERY feature on the Sapphire terrain park today. 12:56pm

After that i took my snowboard down to Joe Jones Outdoor store and dropped it off to have the gouge in the base that i'd fixed about 4 times professionally fixed.

Adam took a couple tree runs today! 2:53pm

Dipped into the woods off of Heaven's Gate and it was frozen underneath but there was a good 4-5" of powder in there.

Adam thinks our weather is having mood swings. 4:10pm

Adam just got his Never Summer SL back with a newly-repaired base. Mmmmmm... 4:46pm

It was a sweet repair, but after a couple weeks it was starting to erode away again. Oh well...

Adam is glad he's got a wood stove, what with the power being out all day. 12:38pm

Actually, the power was only out for a few hours, but it shut down the sign shop, so i went home and cranked up the wood stove.

I found out today that my friend Wendy, who i know through being snowboard instructors together at Okemo, and my friend Anastasia, who i know through playing ultimate together in Albuquerque, know each other! Freaky.

Adam rode his bike, fixed his roof, and shoveled his driveway. It's time for bed. bed bed bed bed bed. 5:30pm

I had been driving my truck around for the past week with a clutch that, when you stomped the pedal completely to the floor, would just barely disengage. Made shifting gears rather difficult. So i called the shop where i've taken it before and they said that they could look at it that day if i got it in there right away.

Fortunately it was a fairly warm day. My new (old) Ross bike had a blown-out sidewall in one tire, so i grabbed my old (newer) Trek and put it in the truck and drove over to the shop. I hadn't ridden that bike in a couple years and about half a maile from the shop i noticed that the back wheel was getting a little wobbly. In another mile, the wheel was seriously out of true and i had to ride very slowly and very wobbly back to East Wallingford along Route 103. Took an hour.

When i got home, i noticed that i could hear water dripping down the flue stack from the furnace so i got out the ladders, found a can of roof cement in the basement, and climbed all the way up to the top of my roof. It was a messy job of glopping goop in along the seam of the chimney and the roof, but i got it done and cleaned most of the guck off my hands.

After that i spent another hour or two chipping up all of the ice and slush on my driveway and shovelling it off. I'm glad i did this because i knew it was going to freeze up solid that night, which it did.

Adam rode the bus to work this morning. 5:57pm

I took the late bus in, which got me in at about 8:00. I got a ride home with Rob Hodgkins.

Adam got some freshies today, on the clock! 6:24pm

Took the early bus in today, which stopped near my house at 5:40 AM! Lotsa snow on the roads, and i got to go out and ride around a bit in order to install signs at the Sugar House and up at the Summit.

I worked half-day, then went out and rode a bit but the snow hadn't arrived yet and i was feeling tired and out of sorts.

Adam is feeling sick and had a long day at work watching it snow all day... 5:22pm

Ugh. Tons of new snow and i felt like crap.

Another epic snowboarding day that i didn't participate in. Finally got myself up in the afternoon so that i could shovel my truck out.

I had emailed Edna the day before about staying at her place if i decided to make a quick trip down to Mass. All the Kolm girls were meeting at Juliet's house and my sister Nina was coming up from Providence with my parents. It was my mom's birthday.

I worked until 2:00, punched out, and drove from Ludlow down to Sudbury, arriving just a bit after my parents had arrived. They were quite surprised, but apparently everyone else knew that i might be coming down. It was a fun evening of good food and conversation.

Adam is happy to be home with his lovable pups. 4:52pm

I got up at about 8:30 and no one else in Edna's house was up yet, so i drove back to Okemo, changed into my instructor gear, and went out for some runs. I took a couple runs with Betsy, then hung around for afternoon line-up, but they had everything covered. I was going to take a couple more runs, but the Coleman Brook Express lift broke down, so i just hiked back over to the sign shop, changed, and drove home to my happy dogs.

Adam decided to stay home today. 1:24pm

Coulda gone boarding, but cleaned the house instead. Also made a crockpot full of chili and baked a banana cake with cream cheese frosting. Mmmmmm...

Adam is getting a little too hooked on Scramble. 4:10pm

Scramble is Facebook's version of Boggle. I've just been playing solo games, seeing how many words i can find. Kind of addicting.
