Katie and Eli practicing with my juggling bags.

I hiked up to Wallingford Pond and sat and wrote for a while. That evening i drove down to the Long Trail School to play some ultimate.
I got a lot of nice pictures at the farm today.
Thunderstorms rolled through in the evening. I saw some lightning strikes as i drove home but didn’t manage to catch any with the camera. Still looks cool, though.
Got a dumpster delivered today for the basement work which is set to begin on Monday.
Took some drone shots of the Stewart House.
This is the side of my truck with road salt (?) and cow manure sprayed on it from the tires.
I was considering naming my latest book something about living on a dead end, so took some pics of the two dead end signs near me.
I took the boards off of the pit in my garage in preparation of having it filled in.
Busy day today. The basement guys got to work, i took pictures at the farm, i played ultimate in Dorset, and i took some pictures of bullet-hole-ridden signs on my drive home.

Progress on the basement.

I took the dogs for a walk over by Spring Lake. We came upon a woman with a dog on a leash along the AT/LT and she was kindof annoyed that my dogs were interested in hers, so i called them off and continued down the trail farther than i’d planned before turning around so that the woman would have time to stay out ahead of me. In that extra bit of walking, Bulo found a small porcupine and even though i was right there and yelling “NO!” to him, he bit it anyway. Instant regret. Lots of rolling his face in the dirt. We got back to the car, i drove to the vet, they confirmed that he had a mouthful (he wouldn’t let me open his mouth), so he stayed to get ’em pulled. I came back later in the afternoon to pick him up—$423. That evening, after the basement guys left, i blocked off the freshly-poured cement in the garage and started watching TV. Then i looked over and saw gray footprints all over the floor. Yes, Koey had taken a tour of the cement. I cobbled together a float and sort-of smoothed it all out again, but it dried a lot rougher than the pros had it.

Old flowers out, new flowers in.
Pushed the Mini onto the new garage floor.
Discovered that some mice had been exploring the newly-poured cement.
Lasered some more calendars.
I made some Evening Song Farm logo magnets.
Stopped by the Okemo employee picnic, then continued on down to the hotel to observe for Northeast Regionals. I did not win.
Chris and i observed Salty vs. Bent, Sprout vs. Goat, and Starling vs. Iris. Didn’t have many calls come to us. Because of the heavy rain scheduled for the afternoon, all the games were moved up an hour and the schedule worked out that we really didn’t have any games to do in the last round, so we were done by 2:00. We went back to the hotel, chilled for a while, then walked down the road to check out a Korean restaurant. They had a 30-minute wait, so we went across the street to a Mexican place, which was pretty good.
Early schedule again. We observed XIST vs. Sprocket, Blueprint vs. Phoenix, then Townies vs. XIST, which wasn’t a very close game. We SHOULD have observed the Blueprint/Sprout game, which ended up being the last game-to-go being played and the field was 4-5 people deep with spectators all the way around. You could hear the cheers of the crowd watching this game from the parking lot. It was ultimate as it was meant to be.
I’d had the fixed 135mm manual lens on my camera to shoot at Regionals and i left it on, getting some zoomed-in shots. That afternoon, i had a blind date up in Middlebury. We got along fine enough but i could tell that i was not what she was looking for. I went from there over to Warren to play ultimate and took a hand-held shot of the moon.
I still had the long lens on and got some nice flower pics. After i went to the farm i spent the rest of the morning at The Mint. While my gameboard was lasering, i 3D-printed some rope clips that i’d designed.
I got a lens-doubling adapter on eBay and i tried it out with my zoom lens.
Took one picture today.
