Sir Bulo.

Started with two low green-level kids but one was better than the other, so Steven took the lower one and i had the higher one. Did lots of runs.

Super cold. Only one kid showed up for lessons and Steven took him. He was late, so by the time kid lessons were sorted out, adult lessons had already been handled. I was cut loose and went home.

Blue-level supernova kids today, same as last weekend.

Had a group of two yellow-level kids all day. A few runs on the carpet, lots of runs on the Coleman Brook lift.

Adult private lesson in the morning, nothing in the afternoon.

First game of the second session of winter league tonight. Late game. For the first time since the pandemic hit and truncated our session, a bunch of Rutland-area players are playing again, so it’s not just me on a solo drive up to Shelburne. Our team has a lot of rookie players on it and we weren’t clicking that well. We lost 40-27 to the Black team, but it was still fun, and good to play with Emma and Wheaton and Josh again.

Took Bulo for a walk and parked where i usually do, but got a little too close to the edge. The snow was really greasy and when i tried to back out, i slid in more, then more, then ended up like this. Rrrgh. I left the truck there and was about to go walk the dog, but a neighbor drove by in his pickup and i pulled out a tow strap. Back up on the road in thirty seconds.

One high green level kid all day.

Blue kids group. One of the three kids slammed his shoulder just before lunch and had to be sledded down from the Sugar House by Ski Patrol.

The kid who hurt his shoulder was back, no worse for wear. Same two Supernova kids all day.

Felt a little queasy in the morning and hoped to not teach, but one blue/black level kid showed up who i’d taught a few times last year, so i rode with him. We went end-to-end at Okemo, riding Dream Weaver and Tuckered Out, we went over ten of the twelve bridges, and in the morning we rode all ten of the operating chairlifts that day.

Same kid again. I was tired, but managed to last the day.

At winter league we had our whole team there. We kept missing end zone throws and fell behind. We caught up near the end but not quite enough, losing 27-26 to the Hawaiian Shirt team. But hey, i scored TWO goals!

Rain, lightning, thunder as i drove to work. I thought all lessons were out of Jackson Gore as usual but we were running out of Clock Tower. I was on adults. Three of the four kids showed up and zero of the one adult showed up. I took a couple laps, then served lunch in the sugar house, then was cut loose after afternoon line-up.

Three blue/black kids. Stefan and i split them—he with the two faster ones, me with a kid with good form but slow speed.

Expected the same kid today, but he no-showed, so i ran the magic carpet lift in Snow Stars for the morning, served lunch in the Sugar House, then back to the carpet for the afternoon.

We only had five instructors today for 22 kids. I was scheduled for adults, but got switched back to kids and ended up with four blue/black kids. The half pipe opened up yesterday and i got to take some runs through it with my class. It’s short.

Started with eight blues that i split with Luke. One went down to greens and Kaylie's daughter Zoe was riding with me until i dropped her off with friends at the halfpipe, so i was left with three. Very scrapey day.

At winter league, we lost 31-30 to the Blue team, our second one-point loss.

Farm.

I was put on the blue/black kids class, but then Derek ended up taking it, so i took out a couple of teenagers in an adult morning class. It was misting all day and my goggles were icing over every three or four minutes. No afternoon lesson.

Derek and Andrew split the eight blue/black kids and i ended up with two, then three, then five yellow-level adults. Spent all morning on the magic carpet. In the afternoon, only one of the four all-day students showed up, so we got to take a couple runs on the lift.

Marvin took the blue/black group today. I was going to help Luke with the greens but it never quite split so we co-taught, which was okay. I was tired and sore.

Just one regular blue kid today. We explored non-official tree runs.

Fresh snow. Andrew and i had a glorious run from the summit. I slid into lineup ready to backline and it looked like i wouldn’t get a lesson as there were only two signed up, both Yellow. Andrew took that class. But then a green/blue kid showed up so i taught all day. He was home-schooled and here from Pennsylvania so i gave him a tour of the mountain. We poked into a lot of tree runs and climbed up the fire tower.

Morning adult who could slide on his toe edge but couldn’t get to his heel edge. In the afternoon i took a couple runs with another adult who got a truncated lesson in the morning.

I got a D on Alec at winter league, threw a push-pass, and ripped a long forhand for a goal. Also threw a crappy hammer out of reach of its intended target. We lost 32-31 to the Green team, our third one-point loss.
