Farm.
I stopped by the Clarendon Gorge to walk the dogs and ran into Brian, a ski instructor at Okemo, with his dog. The dogs got along immediately and tore around while Brian and i chatted.
Farm, then Elfin Lake.
The dogs saw Theresa walking up the road and stood transfixed.
That afternoon i drove over to I-91 in Windsor and pulled in to the Park & Ride lot. After half an hour, Shiellah and Sandra picked me up and we drove down to a crappy motel in Rhode Island, stopping at the Chipotle in Keene for dinner. That evening i had the joy of hearing people in the next room having sex for a while.
New England D-III Men’s Regionals. We had a good diner breakfast at Cindy’s, which was right in front of the motel. Since there were only three of us, we did one game at a time. After observing Williams vs. Middlebury, i said that those were the two teams that were going to nationals. Dinner at a decent Chinese restaurant.
Another greasy diner breakfast, then some closely-contested games. We had to throw out some blue and yellow cards. During the back-door semis, i got pulled off one game to observe the other game by myself, since it was getting very chippy. Finals was Middlebury over #1 seed Bowdoin, game-to-go was Williams over Bowdoin. I called it.

Farm.
Stopped by the farm in the morning, then loaded the truck and drove to Shunk.
I took a paddle in the canoe. Bulo jumped right in as usual, but Koey did not want to get in. She tried to follow us along the muddy shallows at the side of the lake and got nice and wet. Later that day on a walk by the Y field, the dogs found a porcupine! Koey only had a few quills in her, Bulo had about ten. I managed to get all of them out of both of them except that Bulo had two up on the roof of his mouth. Zeke and his friend Costa were at the other house and between the three of us, with a stick held in Bulo’s mouth, i managed to yank those two quills. So no trip to the vet.
I visited with Emily at the other house and Bulo wanted to be inside. I also nearly stepped on a big snake right by the big dock.
Casey, one of her friends, and i gave the game Terra Mystica a try. It was a little too complex for me.
The treehouse is holding up. I left Koey and Bulo in care of Casey and her friends and drove down to visit Daddy.
Casey and her crew left.
I got Koey into the canoe. I also installed a dog door through the wall in the store room.
Casey left a whole bag of apples, so i made an apple cake.
And then i made an apple pie.
I went out on the tractor and Bulo took off into the woods with Koey on his tail. About ten minutes later, Bulo caught up to where i was out on the grade, but no Koey. I did my mowing and drove back to the house—still no Koey. I drove out the grade in both directions, calling and listening, nothing. Went to Shunk, came back around the Wheelerville side and drove slowly all the way in, stopping and calling–no dog. I pulled in to the house, went inside, and about a minute later, here she came to the front door, panting hard. Dunno where she'd been for the past hour or two, but she came back!
Drove home.
Hiked up to Wallingford Pond.
