Rain all day. I got called out for lack of business, so i stayed home. |
One kid lesson in the morning which Jean Yves took. I rode the halfpipe for a while with Stefan, Pete, and Brandon, then was about to go home when i got asked to go scan at the Sunburst Six lift. Did that for an hour or so, then went home. |
I taught an adult morning lesson—one man who was a really solid rider. He wanted to learn 180s so we spent a couple hours riding and spinning. |
I back-lined and ended up with neither of the two adult lessons today, so went home. At winter league ultimate i threw a goal, scored a goal, and generally played well in our win over the Hawaiian Shirt team 35-27. Plus i got a hug from one of the woman players on our team. |
First softcover proofs of my newest published book. |
I raised my hand to take the two all-day adult snowboard lessons and they showed up on skis, so i went home. Bulo was burying a bone in one of the planters. |
One blue-level kid that i’d had a few weeks before. Crunchy snow in the morning, mushy in the afternoon. |
One kid lesson today. I didn’t take it. And so ends the Ski+Ride season. |
I went over to the farm, shined up the Nambé ware that i’d gotten from my parents apartment, then cleared out the remnents of the plowed snow pile to get the Mini out for the season. |

Austin, Heather, Lucy, and i went down to Mount Snow for the day. There were a bunch of other Okemo folks down there too. It was warm, sunny, and slushy and we mostly rode the park in Carinthia, with a couple runs over on the main area and North Face. Came home to find the hardcover proofs of my book. |
Bulo found a stick. |
Last day of the season. |
Employee day at Okemo. Rained all day. The slopes gained more and more dirt as the morning went on. I rode with Lucy until we ran out of trails to ride. Good food-truck lunch for everybody. Day 99 on the season for me. |
Went to the farm and heard a train coming as i left, so stopped to take pictures. That evening i drove down to Danby to participate in trivia night with Kim and her team. I didn’t contribute much and the food was good but expensive. I stopped at the Giant’s Dinner Table on the way down there. |
Lucy and i took a walk out to the Pinnacle. |
Big day. I drove to White River Junction to pick up my new adopted dog. She was bigger than i expected and very nervous and shy, but started to play with Bulo soon after we arrived home. I didn’t like the name that the adoption agency had given her and i had something in my mind that was close, but it wasn’t working for me. |

Took the dogs up to Wallingford Pond. First time for the new pup to be off-leash and she did great, following Bulo through the woods. |
New dog has discovered her happy place—under the porch. |
Slow shutter-speed, but caught Bulo mid-jump. |
Went over to Mill River High School and took some pics of their ultimate game. |
Drove over to Saratoga Springs to observe the Metro East D-III college regionals. I left the dogs on their own. Nothing spectacular on the fields. Sandra and Sheillah and i had a small dinner at a café in Saratoga Springs (the same place where i had a blind date once) and i was put up in a different hotel up the highway a little bit that was a bit of a garbage hotel with highway noise right outside my window. |
Day two of regionals. Exciting semis and final on the men’s side. We finished their final and were going to jump in on the women’s final, but the soft cap went on as they were in halftime, so there was only going to be a couple points anyway. We bailed on it. I took some pics on our off round. Arrived back home to happy dogs. |
