Farm and signs of spring. |
Took a short bike ride around the neighborhood. |
Farm. |
Jamie and i hiked up to the overlook off of the AT/LT above White Rocks. After we got back we went over to the Rustic Rooster for a couple of good burgers. |
Drove down to Amherst in the morning to observe the final and game-to-go in the new England Men's College Regional with Jonathan. Final (Brown / Umass) was fairly uneventful. Game-to-go (Umass / Tufts) was a little more physical and i made some very close line calls, one of which was not at all popular with the opposing team (but his trailing foot (in) came down microseconds before his front foot (out)). It was, again, rainy, but only very light rain. |
It was a super clear sunny day and i went for another bike ride around the block. I stopped along the railroad tracks in East Wallingford where they store all kinds of rail parts and i got a bunch of good pictures. Just something about the light that day.
|
Took another hike with Jamie, this time to a vista out at the end of Lottery Road. On the way back, we stopped at the farm to pet baby goats.
|
Drove from VT to Shunk. I stayed off the highway, taking US-7 down through New York, which parallels I-88. It made the trip longer, but it was scenic. Drove under the Tunkhannock Viaduct, which is a pretty impressive piece of concrete. |
Lazy day at the lake. I rode my bike over to where Lindley and Zeke are building a new house. |

|
Drove from Shunk to VT. Stopped at Mary's new house in Forksville on the way. Missed a turn somewhere in PA, which added probably half an hour to my drive. Stopped at a comic book store in Albany and spent some money. This drive was even longer than the drive down, but the Mini performed smoothly the whole way. When i got home, i unloaded the car, then drove up to the farm to take advantage of the sunshine. |
Finished putting together the Lego Saturn V set. I think this was probably the most technically complex Lego set i've ever built. Pretty cool. |
First day of Okemo Challenge Course training. I was satisfied that i could still ascend up a 20-foot rope without too much trouble. |
Second day of Okemo Challenge Course training. Went over to the farm afterwards.
|
|
First day of Okemo Zipline training. Lots of zipping and climbing and standing around. |
Second day of Okemo Zipline training. Rainy. |
Third day of Okemo Zipline training. |
The Adventure Zone training was today, but zipline guides could opt out, which i did. |
Okemo summer orientation meeting in the morning, then a mock tour for the new guides. Chase and i hiked up, did inspection, and hung the ropes, then i stuck around and took some pictures of the tour, then went over to the farm to pick up my CSA veggies. |
Opening day for Okemo Adventure Zone. There was only one tour in the morning, so some of us guides went in guest harnesses and let a couple of the newbies run the tour for practice. I took a couple of 360° panorama photos by walking around the zip towers. Interesting what the software eliminated on its sweep. After that, i spent an hour in a very busy challenge course, then Nicky and i ran a tour of 8 (plus Liam, a guide in training)—Nicky leading, me sweeping. Nicky got smashed into on tower 8 by a guy who was probably over the weight limit. |
Chase and i did inspection again, then did a tour of two with me leading and Chase sweeping. We did lunches in the Challenge Course, then did a tour of four people from Uzbekistan—Chase leading, me sweeping. |
Farm. Drove down to Springfield, VT to see Solo - A Star Wars Story. There was one other person in the theater. |
