Hiked along the Mill river.

Morning hike along the West Rutland bike path.

Worked for Curt's landscaping business all day. Did some flower-bed cleanup in the morning, then planted some trees at a house way up on South Hill in Ludlow for the rest of the day.

Worked for Curt again at the same place. Got to drive a big manual-transmission dump-truck pulling a long trailer.

Took the dogs to the vet in the morning, then drove down to Vestal, NY to pick up a UHaul trailer i'd reserved. They told me that the reservation was out of Binghamton, so i had to drive back 10 minutes to the Binghamton UHaul Center and the only trailer they had had a broken back door, but we got it to close and i said that i'd take it anyway. I drove up to the lake.

Spent the morning packing up the trailer. At 1:00 PM i was done and ready to hit the road when i discovered that the back-right tire on the trailer was totally flat. Fortunately, my air-compressor wasn't too buried in the trailer, so i filled up the tire and found that it had a couple of hissing leaks. I packed the trailer back up, closed the house, and drove into Shunk to call UHaul. After talking to a rather dim individual on the phone for a while i finally got a call back from the local roadside assistance center and they contacted a place in Williamsport to come fix the tire. At 5:30 i called again and they said that it was OK to just leave the trailer there and the repair guy would fix it by 8:00, so i drove the pickup truck back up to the lake and spent another night.

The tire was fixed. I drove (slowly) back up to Vermont and unloaded the trailer with Maia's help in the dark.

Maia said that she'd look after the dogs (i was originally going to put them in a kennel), so i left them in her care, dropped off the trailer, and drove to the Rutland airport, where i caught a plane to Boston (8 passengers, all men in their 30s-40s). Changed planes (involving having to not only go out and back in through security, but having to actually go outside across the parking garage to another set of gates) and flew down to Charlotte, which is a much nicer airport. Changed planes there and flew into Knoxville, where Mommy, Daddy, and Paul were waiting to pick me up. We went over to David and Sandy White's house for the evening, then to the hotel.

Had breakfast with the 'rents, drove around Knoxville a bit, hung out at the White's, then went to the memorial service for David White. It was a lot of mumbly singing of hymns i didn't know. After that there was a reception at the church, then a second reception back at the White's.

I had set my alarm for 5:10, but it either didn't go off or i didn't hear it (or maybe i set it wrong) and the phone rang at 5:29 with my dad on the other end, ready to go. I made it down to the lobby by 5:35 and we drove to the airport. We all flew on the same bumpy flight to Philadelphia, where they left and i waited an hour and a half and caught a plane to Boston. That flight was really rough and there was no snack service. I walked out of and back into the crappy Boston airport to my new gate, then went on discarded-newspaper patrol until i found a Boston Globe with the Sunday crossword puzzle in it. After a couple hours an announcement was made that all Rutland passengers should re-check. I walked up to the gate and said "It's cancelled, right?" The attendent affirmed that guess, due to weather in Rutland.

After about half-an-hour, all 5 of the Rutland passengers had clumped up and we caught a shuttle to Hertz and rented a minivan and drove up to Rutland. One of the passengers turned out to be a veterinarian at Clarendon Animal Clinic, where i had just taken my dogs for their shots. I got home at about 9:00PM.

Went to the Managers/Supervisors meeting at Okemo.

Went to the closing for my house. After we closed and i got the keys, i drove back to West Rutland, picked up the dogs, and drove to the new house. I got there just as the Vermont Telephone guys were installing the DSL.
