Finished the paths around the new bridge. |
Pulled the second board from the spilldam. |
Drove down to Philadelphia. On my way down Rt. 42, i passed a dump truck at the tail end of a passing zone (OK, maybe beyond the tail end), and got pulled over and issued a ticket for passing on a double-yellow line (not an offense in Vermont, by the way). Thus breaks my streak of not getting a ticket since 1985. I went down to Philly to use the internet connection there to upload some web work. |
Installed the sign i made for Curt's road. |
How to move a boat. |

Drove up to Vermont. Had dinner with John Donohue and his parents, stayed overnight at John's house. |
Drove around and looked at 4 houses for sale. One was nice but too small. The other 3 were in really sad shape. Drove back down to Shunk. |
I had left the back door of the house open for the dogs when i drove up to Vermont and apparently a bat flew in one night. It took about 20 minutes of chasing it around the house before i managed to guide it back outside with a broom. |
Chainsawed up a few fallen trees and chopped them up. Good exercise. |
Drove up to Wysox and picked up a UHaul trailer. They let me hook it up by myself. |
Packed up the trailer. |
Closed up the house and drove up to West Rutland, Vermont to Maia and Dylan's big old house. |
Looked at more houses, made an offer on one in East Wallingford. |

Okemo Fall Training day. Rained hard all day. |
Walked the dogs at the old marble quarry next to the West Rutland Marsh. My latest offer on the house in East Wallingford was accepted. Got a visit from the deputy sheriff of West Rutland about my dogs being off-leash in the neighborhood. It was Dylan's neighbor complaining. |
Freakishly warm day. I took the dogs for a long hike through Rutland's Pine Hill Park up to Rocky Pond. That evening Dylan and i went to the Rutland Haloween parade and met up with KC and his wife Courtney. Dylan wore his gorilla suit. |
