Low on staff, but the crowds are still around.

1234567

Last day of xmess break. The crowds thin out in the afternoon.

1234567

Day off, ahhhh.... I drove to Rutland, went to the bank, got my VT car inspection sticker, and took the dogs for a hike along the Clarendon Gorge.

1234567

Ran upper line-ups today.

1234567

Back to lower. I felt really weak and sickly all day.

1234567

Day off. Slept and watched TV. I felt guilty about not taking the dogs out, but i was also feeling sick.

Slowish Saturday. Aaron and i ran lower line-ups and hung around doing not much in the afternoon.

I went in to work, but then came home after the snowboard supervisors switched their schedules around a bit. I took today off and will work Tuesday, since Dan will be off that day.

891011121314

I ran upper line-ups (only 1 afternoon lesson) and ran a halfpipe clinic with 7 instructors in the morning.

891011121314

Aaron and i ran a morning clinic. Morale among staff was pretty low today and i had to go off and ride by myself for an hour and a half in the afternoon to recharge.

891011121314

Light day, no moody instructors.

891011121314

Warm and slushy.

891011121314

Day off. Walked the dogs, worked on the 'puter.

891011121314

Pouring rain most of the day. It dried up as the temperature started dropping in the afternoon, but the slopes are THIIIIIIINNNNN....

Yes, that's me in the halfpipe.

Everything froze overnight, and it was super windy and cold. Lots of people out skiing and riding and taking lessons, though.

15161718192021

Still cold and windy, but the wind slackened by afternoon and it was sunny, so Aaron and i took a run in among a few stands of trees. Kinda sketchy, but not terrible. When i got home i got a call from Never Summer. They had the materials in stock to press a board for me, did i want it? Oh yeah.

15161718192021

Day off.

15161718192021

That's me and Rach, one of the Australian snowboard instructors. And that's our kitchen floor.

15161718192021

Day off. Worked on video stuff on my Mac.

15161718192021

Not-too-busy Saturday. Nice fog hanging over Ludlow this morning.

Ran lower line-up in the morning. Slow afternoon so everyone went out and did a clinic either with Rob or Dan.

22232425262728

Snowed all day!!! I came home to find two packages waiting for me. My new Never Summer SL 158 and a last-year's-model-but-brand-new Salomon DB 155.5 that i bought on eBay (i put the bid in before i heard from Never Summer). The SL was pressed for me the week before and bears the serial number 070001. So it's the first board pressed for their 06-07 model year. Cool. I drove over to the Wernick House to drop off my new gear and take my old gear home.

22232425262728

Fresh snow, beautiful day, new snowboard... ahhhhhh....

22232425262728

Day off. Took the dogs over to Buttermilk Falls. Snowed some more today!

22232425262728

Rode my new Salomon DB today. Fun little board, but i like the Never Summer better.

22232425262728

Took the dogs over to Proctor-Piper State Forest for a little hike.

Busy Saturday. UFO-looking cloud. Okemo 50th anniversary employee party with fireworks that night.

I taught the tail-end of a group lesson today. One of the students wasn't as advanced as the rest of the class, so i pulled him out and helped him for a while.

Snowed all day. I ran the Innkeepers race today on Aaron's team in place of Mike Lund, who blew out his knee. I skidded out on the 4th or 5th turn and lost most of my speed. Came in at 42.6 seconds. In the afternoon i gave Cory (one of the ski supervisors) a snowboard lesson.
