Drove from Lariat, TX to Caroline's house in Albuquerque, NM. I drove through Vaughn where the gas was $2.89/gallon and i decided to push on up to I-40 where i figured that it'd be cheaper. Wrong! Had to pay $3.09/gallon, which was the only time this trip that i paid over $3/gallon. Ah well.

Had lunch with Chuck. Picked up a freelance web design job while we were walking back from the restaurant. A friend of Chuck's called and wanted to know who did his website. Oddly enough, the designer was walking next to him at the time.

Went to a backyard art show/music event where Debo's band Alpha Blue was playing. Ran into my old boss Marc Orchant and his wife Sue, who was exhibiting her work there. Also saw Terry Bluhm who had to run off for a haircut.

Drove up to Boulder and watched Frenzy play in the Western High School Nationals. They lost every game, but it was an impressive tournament.
Got to meet Mel from the UPA national headquarters, who i've dealt with on some design projects.
After Charlie's team was done, i hit the road and headed east into Nebraska and stopped at a historic marker pull-off along US-34.

Rode with Ann, Bob, Lindley, and Lucy down to Washington DC for Jason and Abby's wedding. The air conditioner in the van didn't work.

Had a surprise 80th-birthday celebration for my dad. Spent the afternoon in my room watching a movie and lost track of time. When i realized that it was 5:30 i discovered that everyone else had already gone to the rehearsal dinner. I got online and found my dad's cell phone number and called to get directions then took a $25 taxi ride down to the restaurant.

Awoke feeling kinda sick. "Rolling Thunder" was in DC that weekend and I-66 was solid motorcycles for about an hour straight.
I took a walk around Roosevelt Island, then over to Georgetown and back. By the time tthe wedding rolled around i had a headache and wasn't in much of an ushering mood. But the aspirin kicked in and the reception was fine.

Rode home in 95-degree heat in a van with no air conditioning. My dogs were super-happy to see me home.

Rode my bike down to Shunk and drove the tractor back up to the lake. Ahhh, rural life...
