Charlie, Teco, Seera, and i hiked from the high bridge downstream to Buttermilk Falls, then continued down to the junction with Hoagland Branch and back up that right into Shunk.

Charlie and i got up EARLY and drove up to Rochester, NY. We picked up with a team from the Rochester area at the Rochester Ultimate Benefit (RUB) tournament. We arrived halfway through the first game, subbed in, and i threw a scoring pass to Charlie, which turned out to be our only point of the game.

We played 3 more games that day, along with some LONG byes, and lost them all, but it was stiill fun. During our second game i ran into Frank Menendez who i played Spring and Summer league with in Chicago and he picked up with our team for a couple games.

After the games, Charlie and i drove into Rochester to my friend Alyssa's tiny apartment. We had a good Greek dinner and frozen custard then hung out on her front porch for a while.

We played two games, losing the first, then finally winning the last, meaningless game. Charlie and i stoppped by Gander Mountain, Target, and Radio Shack before hitting the road home. We missed the turn-off at Elmira for Route 14 so ended up taking some back roads until hittting 14 just north of Troy. When we got back, Thomas was there, having flown into Philly that morning.

Charlie and Thomas went to Dorney Park for the day with Lindley. I spent the day finalizing their treasure hunt, picking blueberries, and making jamly (that's just coarsly filtered jelly).

Charlie and Thomas spent nearly the whole day on the treasure hunt i set up. I made blueberry jam.

I drove Charlie down to the airport in Philly, then stayed down there for 2 weeks working at the hardware store.

Ran into Dan Lubar from Boulder, CO on my way home from work. He was in town visiting his mother, who lives about 3 blocks from my parents. That night i watched the documentary "Loose Change" on the web. Freaky.

Worked for a few hours at the hardware store, then drove back up to the lake. I went out and picked half a bucket of blackberries and made a batch of jelly. While i was picking, Seera and Teco were attacking something in the underbrush and Seera came out with a nose-full of porcupine quills! I managed to pluck most of them out, but i couldn't get a couple short ones out of the tip of her nose and there was one in her tongue. So i called the vet and made an appointment for the next morning.

Took Seera over to Troy Vet Clinic and they knocked her out, plucked the quills, and gave her a second shot which revived her. Took less than an hour.

Jason's friend Damaris arrived for a week-long stay ahead of the rest of Jason's crew who would be arriving later in the week.

My parents left the lake for the summer. I picked a bucket-and-a-half of blackberries and made three batches of jelly in the new jars that i bought online.
