Splinter Fish

LP, Cassette

11/1989

My first big design project. The type and layout for this album (yes, vinyl!) and cassette were produced in Adobe Illustrator 3 on a Macintosh SE, then output to lino paper. The crack was produced by smashing a piece of glass with a hammer, reassembling it and placing it on top of the digital output, then having it shot with a photostat camera. All the various pieces of film were then sent to the printers and they produced the sleeves. Someone however, apparently opaqued out the crack lines in the title on the cover. Odd.

The back cover photo was taken at a railroad bridge out off of route 6 west of Albuquerque. I took a bunch of photos of the band, and then a couple of them making shadows, and the shadow ones were the coolest.
