Went over to John Donohue's parents house, rode his new wave-board, and had a delicious meal that was almost entirely prepared from things from their garden.

Explored some trails along the AT/LT near Spring Lake.

My friend Patrick stopped by with two of his biking buddies after a weekend of road biking around Middlebury, VT. Pat had told me a week or so earlier that he had a present for me and that it was too big to ship. I really had no idea what it might be.

So, Pat and his friend got out of their minivan and i was giving them a tour of my house and Pat spotted the framed poster i have of my old, first mountain bike, a Ross Force 1, which i bought in 1983 and was stolen in 1995. He pointed it out to his friends and they were all oohing over it. Then he went out to the minivan and pulled out the bike pictured above, rode it around my lawn, hopped off, and handed it to me. Wow. It's a 1984 vintage Ross, almost entirely original parts. He'd seen it at a bike swap and recognized it as the bike i used to have, so he bought it and gave it to me. I was speechless.

After that, we drove up to Ramunto's in Rutland for pizza, with a stop to check out the cable-bridge over the Clarendon gorge on the way there.

I played with Huck'n Babiez at the West New England Mixed Sectionals in Hanover, NH. Everyone met at my house and we drove over there. I wasn't expecting much, since most of our team was in high school, but...

We beat Red Scare Ultimate 11-6
Beat St. Johnsbury Just Buda 11-6
Lost to Enough Monkeys 4-11
Beat UFX Nekud 11-10

Once again, everyone met at my house and we drove over there in a light rain. It rained all day, but we continued our good play.

We beat Ultimate Justice 9-8, then lost to Denoiret (the undefeated champions) 8-11, scoring the most points of any team in pool play against them. Denoiret and Enough Monkeys played for first and second, and there were four teams vying for third and a spot at Regionals. We played a sloppy game against Just Buda, but beat them 15-7, then played a good game against UFX Nekud, who'd beaten Red Scare in the other semi, 15-11. So we took third. I was pretty unimpressed with the talent level at this tournament.

More AT/LT, pushing North.

Hiked around Solitude at Okemo.

Hiked down the AT/LT a ways.

I hiked a long 6-mile hike along the AT/LT, closing the final gap in about a 15-mile stretch from Little Rock Pond north to near the base of Killington Peak that i've now hiked all of. On the way back down, i was almost at the White Rocks parking lot when i caught up to a couple guys hiking. As i approached, they turned and said that my dog had gotten a porcupine. Sure enough, both Seera and teco were covered in quills. I hurried them down to the truck, drove home, called the vet, then met him over at the Clarendon animal clinic.

The vet gave Seera a shot, and i asked how long it would take to take effect and he said "Well, why don't you put her up on the table." I lifted her up and when i set her down, she collapsed. It was painful to watch the vet yank all the quills out and when i lifter Seera off the table and set her on the floor, she was limp and lifeless. Pretty freaky.

I loaded the dogs into the truck like dead bodies and drove them home. Teco, once he had enough muscle control to just lie still, did just that, but Seera seemed determined to get up and walk around and she spent about half an hour staggering around the house, falling down every few steps. It was sad but really funny at the same time.

Hiked over to Wallingford Pond.

16171819202122

Hiked in the Green Mountain National Forest and ran into a couple guys who were out in the woods checking on an old spring house that used to serve a dairy that was in East Wallingford.

Drove down to Shunk. Stopped in Ulster, PA and picked up a U-Haul trailer, then drove down to Laporte to the Sullivan County building and picked up a couple of property maps.

Picked elderberries and made some jelly. Mommy and Daddy arrived just as i was finishing up.

Brought in all the boats, took the trampoline down, and split a lot of wood. Decided to drive home that evening with a trailer full of split wood. Nice weather except for a huge thunderstorm as i drove through Albany.

Fowler Brook, under the railroad bridge along Rt. 155.

Drove over to Okemo and asked Rob about a job on the painting crew. He said yes, so i filled out the paperwork.

23242526272829

Tracked some more trails North of Wallingford Pond.

23242526272829

Started working at Okemo. It was a hot and humid day and i hadn't slept well and i was outside painting light posts. Miserable.

Hiked up to Wallingford Pond from the North, then around it a bit.

Hiked toward Wallingford Pond from the East, meeting up with where i'd hiked to the day before.

Filled up the hot tub.
