Wallingford Pond.

I drove to the Quechee Polo Fields to serve as an official observer for the New England College Regionals. When i got there the teams were warming up and doing psyche-up cheers. Due to the way the polo fields are situated in a valley with trees on 3 sides, all the cheers echoed as if it was all in a big stadium. Pretty cool.

I observed Williams/M.I.T., which was a great spirited game, then when we finished that game we had to jump to the next field to finish up the Dartmouth/Tufts game, which was much less spirited. Observed two more games, then drove back home.

Drove to Hanover for Sunday's games. I was off for the first round, so took some pictures (MIT vs. Harvard above). Then i observed the finals (Brown over Williams) and the women's game-to-go (Tufts over Wesleyan).

Took the dogs for a walk around Okemo. There's still patches of snow and the C-box is still set up.

Took the dogs for a walk around Okemo again. Not much left of the halfpipe.

Walked with the dogs along the railroad tracks all the way up to the bridge across Rt. 103.

Bought an electric lawnmower, came home and finished up the new fencing behind the house, took out the old back fence to make the yard bigger for the dogs, then mowed the lawn.

Had an interview with Bruce Schmidt at Okemo about a job in the Okemo sign shop.

Drove down to Shunk. The dogs were super happy to be there.

Took the camper out of the barn, loaded up all my remaining furniture and musical instruments, mowed the lawn, and turned a wood bowl.

Walked around the lake, then drove back to Vermont, camper in tow.

Got up early and drove to Hanover for the White Mountain Open ultimate tournament. I picked up with a team (Koob) that Brian Cleary was on. We were in the elite division and lost all of our games, but made respectable showings. I felt really out of shape and didn't feel like i contributed that much, but we only had 12 players, so i was needed. It pretty much rained steadily all day, so i was glad that i didn't bring the dogs.

Back to Hanover for one more game, which we lost 13-10. We were ready to play our consolation game, but the Dartmouth Alumni didn't show, so we called it a weekend. I watched some other games for a while, then drove home.

Took my Trooper over to Springfield, VT to have its 120,000 mile servicing. They gave me some crappy Oldsmobile as a loaner. Walked the dogs through the dandilion-strewn field along Rt. 140.

And again.

My Trooper wasn't ready, so i drove the loaner down to Albany and caught a flight to Columbus, OH (via BWI) to be an observer at College Nationals. The intersection above is where I-88 runs into I-90 outside of Albany. I've driven through there many times.

Got up early and observed 4 games. Two women's games and two open games. Had to make a few calls. Had dinner at a mexican restaurant next to the hotel.

Got up early again and observed 4 more games. An open game, a women's game, then an open game. The third game was Williams vs. Ohio State and it got hard-capped just when Williams scored to make it 13-12, so OSU won. Then i was a line-judge for the Colorado/Florida semifinal. Had dinner at the same mexican restaurant again. Stayed up way late watching "Kill Bill" on TV.

Got a ride to the airport and flew in super-uncrowdedness back through BWI to Albany, then drove back home to happy dogs. Some of the Wallingford ultimate player kids stopped by on their way back from a juniors tournament they went to that day.

Yes, that's a long way down.
