Not sure of the dates, but at some point this month i biked over to Caroline's house to babysit and left my bike by the front door. 3 hours later when i went to go home, no bike. I was really bummed out, since i'd bought that bike in 1983 and i'd grown quite fond of it.

I reported the loss to my insurance agent and started looking for a new bike. I considered upgrading to a bike with a front suspension, but i wasn't sure if the insurance would cover that. I tried out a lot of different bikes at a lot of different shops but was disappointed by them all. The geometries of all the new bikes had changed to my disliking from the way my old Ross was built.

After a visit to the dentist a week or so after the theft, my truck wouldn't start and i had to have it towed to my mechanic (Bob Raught's Auto Repair - i recommend him). Halfway between the garage and my house was Albuquerque Bicycle Center, where i stopped in and bought a Trek SingleTrack. In hindsight i wish that i hadn't bought that bike. I never really liked it (and i still don't), but it was about the best that i could find. Ah well.
