I got up early in the morning (to the sounds of Eric's child Jendy screaming at the top of her lungs) and i hit the road for a nice quick 14 hour drive down to Salt Lake City. I parked my truck in the hospitible driveway of Bert, a SLC ultimate player.

That morning my friend Chuck (who drove up from Albuquerque while i was driving down from Seattle) and i went snowboarding at Snowbird. The snow was a little choppy in places, a little wet in others, but it was pretty swell. It started dumping snow at about noon, and we quit at about 1:30. The snowboarding worked the road weariness out of my legs, which was good.

Day 2 of Daweena. After the tournament wrapped up, Chuck and Rod and i (masters of efficiency with 3 people, 3 bikes, and 3 cars) drove down to Moab, Utah and camped.

We biked the Flat Pass trail outside Moab and it was sooooo beautiful there i almost stayed another day, but decided i'd better get back to work. Rod stayed and biked the SlickRock trail the next day. Chuck and i headed home with a brief stop at the Ute Mountain Casino to lose some money on the quarter slot machines.

My old housemate Chris wrote me a postcard from Acadia National Park in Maine.

Well, i couldn't find a girlfriend so i decided to get a dog. Summer was a good time to have a puppy, so i went to the pound to see who was there. I was hoping for a very young pup but there weren't any. I finally decided on a sweet little mutt who was covered with dead ticks. (He turned out to be about 4 months old.) He seemed happy to go. When i was signing him out of the pound i noticed on the form why he was in the pound. His previous owners brought him in because he had ticks. !!! I paid the fees and brought him home, stopping at Clark's Pet Emporium on the way for a collar, dog bowls, and some puppy food. When i pulled into my driveway, i went around to the passenger side of the truck and let the pup out. The mailman was walking along the sidewalk on the other side of the street and to my dismay the first thing that this dog did was to take off barking, right at the mailman. Oops. From that day on, the mailman called him "killer".

I had been calling my new puppy different names for about 4 days before finally bowing to my geek heritage and naming him Teco. I think that it fits him. I gave him a tick-powder coating and after a few days all the ticks were gone and his coat looked good.

The first thing that i taught him was to stay off of the ultimate field. He got pretty good at it.
