Drove the Trooper down to Juliet's house in Sudbury.

New England Regionals in Devens. Lots of Observers to manage. Went in to Waltham that evening and had dinner with Juliet and Beth.

Day 2 of New England Regionals. I observed the Masters game to go, watching DoG lose and not make it to Nationals for the first time in something like 22 years. Charlie and i drove back to Sudbury to drop of Juliet's ladder, which Charlie had been using to video from. I had told Juliet in the morning that we would require cake and sure enough, there was a delicious chocolate cake waiting for us when we arrived. I should make jokes like that more often.

After cake, Charlie and i stopped for pizza, then drove back to Vermont. I dropped him off in Newfane, then returned home.

The clutch had been slipping on the Trooper. The windshield was cracked and inspection was due. I had it at my mechanic's and he said that it'd pass inspection with a new windshield, but to fix the clutch would be about $800. So i cleaned it out...

I went over to Alderman's Toyota in Rutland and met with Doug, who used to work at Okemo. I test drove a Tacoma, which i didn't like. Then i test drove an FJ Cruiser, which felt much better than the Tacoma. Doug and the used car manager were REALLY trying to not let me leave without buying the 2007 blue FJ Cruiser that i'd test drove, but it was getting annoying and i didn't want the 2007 one. I finally left.

I had made an offer on an army green FJ, but they couldn't get it from the dealership in New Hampshire, so i settled on the "quicksand" one. It was pouring rain as i stood in my driveway, wrestling with the rusted license plate bolts on the Trooper. A guy from Fair Haven came over, loaded it up, and then he gave me a ride into Rutland, where i picked up the new FJ.

Worked in the morning, then drove down to Albany. Flew from Albany to Charlotte, then Charlotte to Tampa. On the second flight there was another jet a few miles away flying parallel with us for about 20 minutes. It's just barely visible in the pic above.

Picked up the rental car, met up with 3 other observers, and drove down to Sarasota for USA Ultimate Club Championships.

Observed two games with Alex (Machine vs. Madison Club, then Johnny Encore vs. Wasted Talent), then a 3 o'clock round mixed game with Julie (AMP vs. 7 Figures). Right when that game ended, we got pulled onto a 4 o'clock round (Blackbird vs. Wildcard) which was tied at 5-5. So 4 games in 3 rounds. Went out to dinner at a Japanese steak house.

Three rounds today with Keith. Johnny Bravo vs. Revolver, Bravo vs. Ring of Fire, Bravo vs. Chain Lightning. Bravo lost all three but there were some really great plays, especially in the last game. Volunteers Dinner that night at a restaurant owned by Dick Vitale. He showed up later in the evening and gave a little speech, urging us to donate to his charity.

Only worked one game today (with E.K.), the Masters semifinal between Boneyard and Reckon. Exciting game, with Boneyard coming from behind to win. We did give out two TMFs to Boneyard though. After that, i had to drive E.K. up to the airport. He live-streamed the masters final on his iPhone on the drive up.

Finally got a chance to take some pictures, although most of them came out blurry. Still dealing with focusing problems with my camera. Dinner that night at Yoder's Amish Restaurant.

Was told that i had to give my rental car to a couple other observers but no one could confirm that or how i was supposed to get the 4 people i was supposed to drive to the airport on Monday morning. It was kindof a mess, but eventually the other observers took a cab and i kept the car.

Observed the mixed finals (Polar Bears vs, Blackbird) with Wally, Fritz, and Charley, then watched the womens and open finals. I had observed Revolver a couple days before and they just didn't look that strong, so i kept saying that Doublewide was going to win, but no one agreed with me. They did, hah.

Went out to a fancy italian restaurant for dinner with a few observers. Wally and i were continually checking our flight statuses for the next day as we watched superstorm Sandy approaching the east coast. His flight to Ithaca got cancelled, mine to Albany wasn't.

Drove up to the Tampa airport with Shiellah (my car was given to three other observers who were leaving later) and my flights were still not cancelled. Flew to Charlotte and the Albany flight was still a go. Flew to Albany and arrived to a fairly empty airport. Turns out we were the last flight in, then they closed the airport. It started to rain as i left the parking lot.
