Went to see the traveling production of Spamalot! at the Paramount Theater in Rutland. Funny. |

Elfin Lake. |
Winter League Ultimate Semi-finals: We lost to the brown team 32-25. |
Beginning of 3 weeks off of work. Two required, one optional. I got the Mini out and drove down to Newfane, Vermont to check out the general store there. My sister Caroline was negotiating the purchase of the place and i wanted to see the place. While i was in the parking lot, a woman commented on my Mini and said that she had a Honda 600, which looks very similar. Then, as i was getting gas in Putney, a guy on a motercycle pulled up and told me that he had two Minis, a 72 and a 74, both from New Zealand, as mine is. From there i drove up to Westminster, Vermont and stopped in at Sportscar Services to talk to them about giving my Mini a going-over. I got a tour of their barn, which was full of Jags, Austin Healeys, MGs, Rovers, Triumphs, Minis... all beautiful. |
Busy day of errands. Took the dogs to the vet, went to HomeCrap, auto parts store, PetCrap, CrapMart, supermarket, TractorCrap, bank, got my oil changed, and paid my dog registration fees. |
Winter League Ultimate: We beat the orange team in the game for 3rd place 35-34. |
Drove down to Cranbury, NJ and visited Jen Hartigan and her kids. Had dinner on her patio, then continued on down to Philadelphia. |
Took the dogs for a walk in the woods and took some pics around my parents house. Mommy took me on a tour of Morris Arboretum, then we stopped by Kilian's Hardware and visited folks there. |
Went to my dad's friend and fellow teacher Diane Goldstein's 50th birthday party. |
Met my friend Will Starr at Panera for breakfast. We had a good chat. Mommy, Daddy, and i went to see the movie "Trout Fishing on the Yemen", but the times were printed wrong, so we ended up seeing "Footnote", which was a subtitled Israeli film. It was interesting and well-acted, but the main character was not likeable at the beginning and by the end was still not likeable. |
I was originally going to spend a day or two in Philly, then head up to Shunk, but it snowed 8" there today so i stayed in Philly. |
Spent most of the day hanging out with my friend Chris Paulmier. |
Took the dogs for a walk in Carpenter Woods in the morning, then in the afternoon, for the first time i left Teco at home and took just Seera for a walk along the Wissahickon. We were able to go at a much faster pace. |
Finally drove up to Shunk. Rainy most of the drive, started to see snow on the ground a few miles from Shunk and found a lot in the shady areas up at the lake. Lake is lowest i've ever seen it. Both pipes at the end of the house had burst over the winter, so i had to run down to Canton a couple of times to get plumbing supplies to fix them. |
The valve wheel for the sluice pipe under the spilldam. Usually way under water. Refixed one of the plumbing valves i'd fixed the day before as it was leaking. Discovered that the refrigerator had stopped working. |
When i looked at the footbridges last fall, many of them had been floated off of their fondations. I found out that Ann, Bob, Brian, and Emily reseated a bunch of them, leaving just bridges 1 and 2 to be repaired. I drove down to Canton Building Supply and loaded a lot of lumber on top of my Trooper. |
Spent the day fixing bridges 1 and 2. The last bridge is the bridge by the old springhouse between the two houses. |
Rebuilt the bridge by the old springhouse, then rode my bike down to Shunk and drove the tractor back up to the lake. |
