Color & Non-Silver Photography

Non-silver Photography

Winter/1986

Non-silver and color photography course. We worked some with Ectachrome slides, then did a bunch of stuff with hand-coating emulsion on art paper.

Van-Dyke Brown print.

The negative of this print is in Van-Dyke Brown, the positive in Cyanotype.

This is a Van-Dyke brown print that i went over with water-color on the orange-peel.

The teacher was encouraging us to use images other than from photo negatives, so i copied this picture from someone's yearbook. This is my friend from high school Eve. It's printed with Van-Dyke brown over a background wash of Gum print. The Van-Dyke Brown changes the color of the gum print when it's applied over it.

I took this at Live-Aid in Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia. I like how all three subjects have sunglasses on, and you can see one of the stadium's light towers in the reflection of one of the lenses. The positive of this is a Cyanotype with the negative printed with a rainbow pattern of Gum print.
