My new 1976 Morris Mini was delivered today by a Russian guy who barely spoke English. I took it for its first drive over to Wheaton's for a bonfire party where Sam and i lifted the back end of the Mini completely off the ground. Odd to be driving on the right side, hugging the curb. I could shift with my left hand OK, but the hardest thing to get used to was that the turn-signal lever is on the right side of the steering wheel. |
And it fits in the garage...

Hey, growly... (she wasn't actually growling) |

Took the dogs over to Evening Song Farm and walked them around, checking out the devestation and the exposed bedrock which wasn't actually quite rock. It was about halfway between clay and rock and was super cool. |
Applying the letters to the A Quad, standing on top of my Trooper. My boss Tim took this pic. |

Getting my house painted. Lots of scraping and sanding. |

Got up at 4:30 and drove up to Middlebury where i met up with Andy Mac. We drove up to Burlington and picked up Tom, then drove up to the Montreal Grand Masters tournament. We won one game and lost 5. My first throw of the day was a hammer for a goal, and i had a great end zone catch in between two taller defenders, but other than that, wasn't stellar. I saw Dave Peacemaker (don't know what last name he goes by these days) on the Mass team and Bruce Kwo on the Philly team. After our sucky performance, we went to the downtown hotel, walked around looking for a place to eat, found one, and ate. I was about to pass out from fatigue and went back to the hotel early. |
Played 2 more games and lost them both (the last one to the only team we'd beaten the day before). Then drove home. |
Went over to Evening Song Farm again and Teco and Seera had a good time running around with Echo. |
One of the goats at Evening Song Farm. |
After work i drove up to Middlebury in the Mini. I needed to get it registered as the temporary tag expired the next day and the Rutland DMV had been closed because of flooding from Tropical Storm Irene. Easy in, easy out, and the Mini drove up and back just fine.
