Tromped through the deep snow with the dogs. |
I got a Tamron 80-205mm lens today that i'd won on eBay for $10 (plus $10 shipping). Put it on my camera and shot with it for a few weeks. |
The new long lens finally let me shoot the end of my fence from my driveway without having to climb over the mound of snow next to my driveway. |
And i could also get up closer to those icicles hanging off the roof of the SSB. |
Ladders next to the SSB. |
Set the camera up on a tripod and took some pics of myself. |
More pics of me (and the dogs). I used one of these pics as the base to draw a vectorized version of myself which i had as my photo on Facebook for a while. |
Took the dogs over to White Rocks Picnic Area. |
More snow, but not much and very wet. I took this pic while i was over at the Clock Tower Base Area delivering signs. |
Jackson Gore Peak from the SSB parking lot. Also i finished the vector-version of myself today. |
This is a wooden plaque i designed and laser-etched in the signshop. |
Aaron was cleaning up the signshop and found this mummified hummingbird (say THAT 10 times fast) up on a shelf. |
Hiking along the railroad tracks. |
Ice in a stream somewhere. |
Ice-dam in the Mill River. I stopped my truck a couple blocks from my house on my way to Okemo to take this pic. |
Walked the dogs in the cemetary. |
I punched out of the signshop, geared up and slid down to the upper meeting area just at 10:00. I got a morning lesson of 5 Canadian kids (3 girls, 2 boys) who were all good riders and a lot of fun. After work i jiked up in the Green Mountain National Forest again. The snow level was much lower than the last excursion on the 1st. Caught Seera in mid-shake. |
Ah, mud season... I once again punched out and had the same 3 girls (Hannah, Rebecca, and Amy) as the day before and we worked on rails and jumps. I had been calling Hannah "Hannah Teter" for both days and by coincidence that afternoon, the actual Olympic Gold Medalist Hannah Teter came into the signshop with her mom. |
Punched out for the third day in a row, but there was enough instructors so Hannah and Rebecca got to ride with Betsy today. I told them that i'd seen Hannah Teter the day before. I took a few runs by myself then slid back over to the signshop. Dogs in the yard. |
Aaron and i had to spend the afternoon with the housekeeping crew at the Jackson Gore Inn making beds. One of the rooms that i had to work in was so amazingly filthy. The inhabitants had cooked a meal and left everything uncleaned. All the pots and pans and plates and everything had stinking food on 'em. Euugh. Took the long lens off my camera and went back to the 18-55mm lens. Hiked with the dogs up the Healdville Trail until it got too icy. |
Took a pic of the frost on my truck's windshield. Later that day i drove down to Springfield Vermont to Aaron's house for his and his son Kai's birthday party. We jammed a bit and took a hike/bike/unicycle along the path by the Black River. |
Light dusting of snow today. |
Walked around the house taking pictures. |
More frost (and exhaust from my truck). I went out for about 5 hours today on the clock and shot pictures and video of the Ross Powers Snowboard Camp. At the end of the day we showed all the footage i'd shot at the pizza party for the camp kids. |
I was supposed to shoot video for the Mountain Masters program today, but only two people showed up, so i went over to the halfpipe and shot a bunch of pictures of the Ross Powers Camp and of Ross himself. The picture of the girl is Abby, just after Tom, the coach, had thrown her off the side of the halfpipe. And of course the guy way up in the air is Ross Powers. |
Shot a couple pics of the dogs through the window. I was home because i had a repairman over from Knight Tubs to look at why my hot tub wasn't working (bad heater element). I shot the pic of the clouds as i was driving home along Rt. 103. |
Took the dogs for a hike along the AT/LT north of Route 140. |
Walked the dogs out in the fields along Route 140. Took some tripod-mounted long-exposure shots of Teco that evening. |
Another shot of Teco in the same place with daylight in the room. |
The heater under my desk that i use when i don't have the wood stove burning. |
My living room. Today Aaron and i got Peak Performer cards for helping with the Jackson Gore housekeeping. |
