I went out and walked around a piece of property around Ellenton that i want to buy. I can't afford it though.

I was feeling bereft of TV so i drove down to Montoursville and went to see "Serenity", which was pretty good. I kinda liked the TV series "Firefly", from which this movie was spawned. It'd be cool to see a sequel.
Mommy came up for a couple days and we went over to Landon's Orchards in Canton to pick 2 bushels of Ida Red apples. I used a bunch to make a batch of apple butter. It came out a little thin i think, but pretty tasty, if a little heavy on the cloves.
The construction crew came today and banged out most of our new porch extension.
I went out in a kayak and took some evening pics. There were a couple of bats flying around, so i sat in the kayak until one got close and snapped a flash picture of one as it flew by. Kinda cool.
Mommy wanted some Northern Spy apples, so i drove over to Landon's and picked 2 bushels of them. Later that day i washed the Scamp and winterized it.
The construction guys came again and finished off the porch. While they were doing that i made a batch of apple butter out of the Northern Spys and some apple sauce out of some miscellaneous apples and the leftover Ida Reds.
Done porch. Cool moon.
Walked around and took some pics.
A couple of guys came over and built the steps off the porch. I spent the day packing up.
Got up, did the laundry, hooked up the camper (full of my stuff), drove to Vermont, unloaded stuff into my new place (2nd floor of the house above), then took the pups over to Okemo and walked around a bit.
Dan, Aaron, and i hiked somewhere and cut some trees... somewhere, i don't really remember where... hmmm... Teco and Seera got to run around with Dan's 2 dogs.
Started work (at 7 AM, ugh!) at Okemo on the paint crew. The paint crew is just Aaron and me... not too stressful.
It snowed all day. Aaron and i drove up by the Sachem condos at Okemo after work, hiked up a short way and snowboarded back down. My trooper nearly went off the road on one steep part and it took some gentle nudging and careful steering to get it turned around and back down the hill (sliding a LOT of the way, pretty scary).
View from the morning let-the-dogs-out-to-pee-before-i-go-to-work. Also a view of my bastardized Morrow snowboard with sections from my Marker snowboard bolted on to it (to allow the affixtion of standard bindings, since the Morrow had old hole-patterns). I call it a Morker. Finally a view of the railroad just up the bank behind my house where i walk the dogs after work.
Rob offered me the job of snowboard supervisor. I accepted.
After work Aaron and i drove up Sachem again, then hiked all the way to the top of Okemo and boarded down. It was sweet.
View toward Okemo Mountain from in front of my house on my way to the Okemo Learning Center fall training session. The training session was my first as a supervisor, which basically meant that i had to arrive 15 minutes early and stand on the other side of tables informing people where to sign in.
Aaron and i drove up to Killington to snowboard. It was sunny, warm, and even though it was a bit crowded, the snow was great. It felt good to get out on some real slopes. Earliest i've ever been boarding at a lift-serviced hill.
That afternoon i moved my camper over to Aaron's back yard where it'll sit for the winter.
