Caroline, Daniel, Paul, Casey, Conny, and i drove over to Hoagland Branch and hung out for a while, swimming and wading. We didn't go to where we usually go because the road was washed out and blocked off to traffic.

Charlie, Thomas, and i got dropped off at the Devil's Elbow Recreation Area and hiked all the way back to Lake House II.
|
Mommy, Daddy, Charlie, Thomas, and i went to the annual Roast beef Dinner at the Endless Winds Fire Hall. Eddie Fisher drove up there from Shunk in his Model T. There is an appallingly large amount of obese people in Sullivan County.

Picked blueberries and made some bluebarry jam.
|
I picked some blueberries and tried just canning them. Worked out OK, but the berries settled a lot, so the jars don't look really full.
|
I hiked with the dogs, but started out by paddling across the lake. Seera, for the first time ever, jumped into the boat without me having to lift her (somewhat unwillingly usually) in.

Picked blueberries and made some bluebarry jam.
|
Nina and Emily wanted me to show them where to pick blueberries, so i took them out along the lake, then took some pics.

Picked blackberries and made some blackbarry jelly.

Isaiah at the breakfast table. Today i drove the tractor into the woods where our garbage pile is and used the back-hoe to dig a big hole there, then i put up a wire fence to keep certain grubby garbage-eating dogs OUT! My plan this summer was to get Seera to lose weight, but since she's been getting into the garbage every night, she's bloated into a lard-butt.
|
Tried making some pickles. A little dark, but they didn't taste too bad. While the cucumbers for the pickles were soaking in brine i picked blueberries and made a batch of blueberry jam and a batch of blueberry jelly.

Saw a bear! I was just turning into our road from the paved road at Ellenton and i saw a small bear trotting across the field. It stopped at the road (about 100 yards or so from where i was) and looked both ways, then stood up on its hind legs and peered at me for a few seconds. Then it dropped back down on all-fours and lumbered across the road and down into the field on the other side.

Mark's dog Chino, and three generations.

Picked blackberries and made some blackberry jelly.

I was photographing a bunch of things to put up for sale on eBay.

There was a bald eagle flying up the lake this morning.
Took Teco to the vet this morning. He's gotta be on antibiotics for a week or so. Plus i have to rub some anti-itch cream on his lower belly, which he's not keen on giving me access to.
Installed the foundations for the Poppop's Road Bridge.
The 'rents and i went down to the fabulous quaint old (small and dinky) Rialto Theater in Canton and saw "March of the Penguins" this evening. It was good, but not as great as all the reviews kept saying it was.

Daddy and i drove over to Forksville and met up with Lynn Meyer, then we all drove up to Harris Hill Glider Airport outside of Elmira, NY. We met up with a friend of Lynn's there and helped her put her her Schweitzer 1-26 together. It was a classic gliders meet so there were a bunch of old gliders there, including the only 2 Schweitzer 1-22's in existence, parked right next to each other. After a lunch of hot dogs, we toured the national glider museum, then drove home. That evening Ken came over and cut down a dead tree by the house.

Daddy's friend and coworker Diane came up to visit with her partner Claire and their two kids Abby (eating s'more) and Isabel (Izzy - eating marshmallow).

I left the dogs with their grandparents and drove down to Philly. It rained the WHOLE way. When i got there i took digital photos from my mom's photo albums and my baby book. I'd lost a bunch of the pics i took the last time i was down in Philly because the hard disk on my Powerbook totally bity the dust.
Also while i was there i wallowed in the crack-addiction of cable TV.

Got up, took some more pictures, then left at about noon. I stopped in at the hardware store and ended up working there for a couple hours, cutting glass, copying keys, and helping customers. I finally managed to escape and drove back to Shunk, stopping at the Plymouth Meeting Mall and at the mall at Buckhorn, shopping for shoes. I finally bought a pair for $19.95 at Wal-Mart. When i got home at about 7:00 Mommy had already left for Philly, and then it started to rain. It rained all night.
