I took these pics on my way home from Cara and Jason's house i think. |
I was checking the info on my dog-ticket in preparation for the court date the next day when i discovered that the court date was NOT on the 15th, it was on the 12th! Oops. I called the court and was told to check back when the decision was in the computer system. |
I biked over to the courthouse to pay what i was told was a $100 fine for the dog-ticket but when i got there i found out that they wanted $400-- $100 for each violation (2 dogs: 2 off-leashes, 2 no-rabies-tags)!! So i paid a fee to get a new court date. |

On All Things Considered on Friday they had a report about the America 24/7 project, where amatuer photographers could submit pictures taken the week of May 12th - 18th, 2003. I was bummed that i hadn't heard about it earlier, but i went out on Sunday, the last day, and took a bunch of pics. I submitted 7 (the maximum number), but i didn't really like any of them. Three of the ones i submitted are above: My neighbor's dog Boo, my other neighbor's dog Blackie, and some railroad workers that i saw while walking the dogs along the des Plaines river. None of my pics were selected for the America 24/7 book, but the picture of the railroad workers was chosen to be in the Illinois 24/7 book (page 75)! So i'm a published photographer now. |

Bought the CD "Gorillaz" today. Couple of funky tracks, but not terribly interesting overall. |
I drove out to St. Charles, west of Chicago, to see DADA play at a cool old theater. I had been emailing both the dada webmaster Lance and the Arcada Theater before that show to confirm that it was OK to bring my camera. Both responded in the affirmative. About halfway through the show, some greasy overweight guy asked me who i was shooting for. I said no one. He said that i had to stop. I said "They said it was OK!" He said "Who?" I pointed to the stage and said "THEY did!". He left me alone.
