These were some pretty gnarly huge icicles hanging over the back door of the Siren office.

Those things on Teco and Seera's collars are anti-bark devices. I got them because a week or two before i was woken up at about 1:30 AM by someone ringing my doorbell and pounding on my door. Thinking that it must be something important, i got up to see who was there. Turned out to be my drunk neighbor yelling at me that my dogs keep him awake all day with their barking, so now i know how it feels.

So i bought these collars and i guess they worked, but the dogs would make enough noise every day that the thing would burn through its $6 battery every 2 or 3 days. I finally gave up and let them bark. They only bark at strange people in the alley and any squirrel who dares scamper through the trees in the yard.

The train bridge over Marion street became another of my favorite subjects. I swear there's some famous black-and-white photograph of someone in france walking under a bridge like this, all dark and silouetty, but i've never been able to figure out if i'm just imagining it or if i really have seen a picture like this before.

The sunsets in the midwest may not be as awe-inspiring as in the southwest, but there are buildings to silouette in front of them.

My office. I worked on a Powerbook with an extra monitor hooked up to it. Slowest machine in the office, but when the power would fluctuate and cries of horror would erupt, my 'puter kept runnin'.

Today i drove into the city to help my friend Greg move. I got there early and walked around his neighborhood taking pictures until he showed up with the truck.

On my way to Banff, Alberta, where i got to stay at the Glamorous Banff Springs Hotel, home of the Canadian Mounties. This trip was courtesy of David and Sandy White, who were there with Paul and Wendy and their kids.

We all went dogsledding, which was very cool. After that i took a walk around downtown Banff.

We hit the slopes at Sunshine Village ski area. I hung with Paul and Wendy for a bit, but then ditched them and hit the black-diamond runs. After boarding all day i walked around Banff a bit more.

Sunshine Village again today. That evening we all went back up to Sunshine for tobogganing and a dinner at the lodge. The only way up to the base lodge there is via the gondolas, so they run late into the evening.

On the 27th i went off by myself to Lake Louise ski area, which had some great powder on its backside, including one really cool tree run where you could jump off the roof of this shack which was back in there.

On the 28th, i again took off by myself, this time to the Norquay ski area, just outside of Banff. Once again i walked around Banff after boarding, this time further out of town by the railroad tracks, which i seem to be drawn to, don't i?

March 29th was the first day of Spring Break for Alberta and Saskatchewan, and suddenly the ski areas were PACKED. I decided to bail out, rest my legs in the hot tub and roam around the town and hotel some more.

At 4 o'clock the next morning we checked out and drove an hour through the snow to the airport in Calgary. I got home to happy dogs and immediately took them out to Schiller Park for the second of two sceduled spring league ultimate games.
