One month down, 11 to go. The alley behind the office looked particularly interesting that night, lit by the lights of the parking garage. These icicles were hanging from under the train tracks. I took this on my bike ride home from work.

I went over to Paul and Wendy's that evening (we went out to see Black Hawk Down). While i was there i took a picture of their cat Diamond.

I took the dogs out to the woods, then took the el to Cara and Jason's house that afternoon to watch the superbowl. The times on the last pictures i took today were after midnight, but for me, the next day doesn't begin until dawn, so 12:04 AM, February 4th is actually 11:64 PM, February 3rd.

By this point i'd taken to wandering through the back alleys of downtown Oak Park, finding nice reflections in dingy spaces.

This was one of those days where i realized that i hadn't gotten a good picture yet, so i wandered around my neighborhood that evening taking lots of shots. This is the intersection of Roosevelt and Oak Park Avenues.

I stopped by Paul's house today, picked up Iniki, and took all three dogs out to the forest preserve land where they got to run and play.

The next afternoon, Paul, Teco, Seera, and i piled into my truck and drove to Shunk, Pennsylvania. We stopped for gas in Swanton, OH and Clarion, PA.

I was in Shunk for my uncle Dale's funeral. These are my cousins kids Lindley and Ben, taken in the Endless Winds fire hall where the dinner following the funeral was held. After everything was over Paul, Jason, Ian, and i went up to the lake. I love Teco's curious look in this picture... Paul and i then walked around the lake, taking pictures the whole way.

The next morning i toured around the lumber mill for a bit, taking pictures. Took a few in the general store, then we hit the road back to Chicago. The dogs were pretty good travelers this trip.

This is the pedestrian bridge over I-290 (and a bunch of train tracks) that i rode across every day to and from work. I bought some stuff at Dan's Bike Shop after work.

I decided to go down to McCormick Place to see the much hyped Chicago Auto Show. I took my unicycle on the el and saw the spectacle. But the auto show wasn't that interesting really, so i unicycled on up the lake shore, taking pictures.

I took a few pictures of all the layered reflections in the window that looked in on the workings of the elevator in the Holley Court parking garage.

Learned a lesson this day. I took a few pictures, among them this one, and i wanted to use this as the day's picture because it looked good on the little screen on the back of the camera, but when i finally looked at it on my computer a day or two later, i discovered that it was blurry. From then on i checked more carefully before the end of a day.

Took the dogs out to a new spot by the des plaines river just south of 26th street. Then later went to play ultimate at Washington park. Took this picture on my way home as i walked between the Adams/Wabash station (green line) and the Jackson Station (blue line) in downtown Chicago.

I went to another new place to run the dogs, along the salt creek, which flows into the des Plaines. Then i went downtown again and out the brown line to Horner park to play pick-up ultimate. After that i went out for Thai food with Jason and Cara and a couple other folks.

I was walking down the alley behind Borders and i saw this pigeon walking around in circles twisting its head around upside-down every few seconds. Very strange. I bought Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble - "Live at Montreax 1982 & 1985" today. What the heck, i have all the other SRV albums, might as well get the complete set. Besides, it's always impressive to hear him play.

Snowed overnight. I bought the CD "People Are Moving" by the band "Everything" today. It doesn't have the intrigue that their previous album "Supernatural" has and it's kinda blander.

This is what happened to the dogs' automatic-filling water dish every winter. And the hose never busted. It'd just thaw out and work fine every spring. On my way home today i stopped by Second Hand Tunes and bought the CD "Sweeping Up The Cutting Room Floor" by Poi Dog Pondering. I didn't even know that this CD existed. It's got some cool moments, but it's all outtakes from previous album sessions.
