Wooden Bowls

Bowl 7

Unknown wood
7"

10/20/2001

Turned on David White's lathe in Knoxville, TN. Given as a Christmas present to Mary Beth Hales of Pekin, IL in 2001. It's hard to tell from these pictures but this bowl is actually pretty thin. As i was working the sides down, the wood started to flex a little, causing the gouge to chatter across the surface as it turned. That's what caused the little parallel lines running diagonally along the inside curve.

Turned on David White's lathe in Knoxville, TN. I miscounted the number of bowls i'd made prior to this one, so this is the second #7. I like the angled step halfway down this bowl. I don't really plan how a bowl is going to look, i just dig into the wood and see what i feel like making as i go along. I felt like making a step this time.
