I roughed out the blank for this in the Fall of 2006 and then left it sitting on the lathe until i got back the next Spring. It's one of the rare cases where i turned the outside, flipped it over and turned the inside, then flipped it again and gave it a smooth bottom. It was difficult to turn because half of it was pretty good wood and the other half was a bit softer, so it was never balanced on the lathe and wobbled during the whole turning process.
